Ed Wetherington is a Partner in the Audit and Accounting Department of Tidwell Group. Mr. Wetherington has more than 30 years of experience providing audit, accounting, and tax services.
As a partner, Mr. Wetherington is responsible for the planning and execution of all assigned audit engagements; the direct supervision of all fieldwork; the review of financial statements and cost certifications; and the review for compliance with laws and contracts. Assignments with these clients have included audits, cost certifications (Final Tax Credit Cost Certifications, HUD Mortgagor’s Cost Certifications, HUD Contractor’s Cost Certifications, and HOME Loan Contractor’s Cost Certifications) reviews, and compilations of financial statements, tax planning, tax return preparation, and other accounting and tax related services. Ed brings a wide variety of audit experience from dealing with construction companies, mortgage companies, governmental entities and real estate investments and not for profit entities. His real estate experience includes affordable housing including low income housing tax credits, HUD assisted projects, and USDA/Rural Development projects. Ed is also responsible for SSAE 16 (SOC I) and SOC II reporting for a variety of industries including process servers, internet service providers, debt collection law firms, payroll processors, insurance claim processors, expense report management companies and software companies.
These engagements require the evaluation of management assertions represented by financial and statistical data to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
Mr. Wetherington provides consulting services to all clients related to financing transactions, organizational structures and general business practice. He is active in the Atlanta financial community and serves as a resource for closely-held clients.
